I am one who only needs 4-6hrs sleep most nights. Infact, if I have an nap for an hr, it can keep me going all night..

It's frustrating because there are those days every now & then that you REALLY need a good sleep, but just can't.

I agree with Luke & Emily. I am a very ambitious, perfection seeking artist/designer & I suffer from anxiety. Perfect concoction for less sleep. Sadly, night is when I am most creative :(

These days I don't have a choice as my boyfriend, who has a deviated septum & post nasal drip, keeps me awake all night with his coughing/spluttering/stratching & random yells.

I think sleep is all relative to the type of person you are, ie. ambitious = always thinking & less sleep. Repressive of emotions = restless sleeper, etc..

One thing I do notice is that I have ridiculously slow circulation. I am ALWAYS cold often I wake up cold. Anyone else have this problem?

Perhaps our body temperature drops too low & our body says 'NO! TIME TO GET UP & GENERATE HEAT!'. Lol, just a thought!

very good and helpful article indeed,
After having some swing moods, procrastination while writing my Ph.D thesis, i got to see a psychiatrist who identified nothing but a huge perfectionnism (more specifically toward my academic performance), he proposed to treat it with Cognitive Behavior Therapy, but i need rapid results, i am pushed by the deadline of submission, after trying many other self-help techniques, reading many self-help books that give nothing but a very mitigated results, i thought that it was may be time to try EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) i saw a psychologue but i didn't feel that trust needed to succeed the therapy with the therapist, so after 2 sessions, i decided that i have to try something else, i tried EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) but it gave me huge headaches, and even worsten my procrastination, as its effect was like an anesthesy of the guilt of not working (but i didn't arrive to lit the fire of motivation), so by total hazard, while surfing on the net, i found an article about Brainwave Entrainment, immediatly i download the "MorryMethod" to try it out, AMAZING! after just one week, i feel that all the negative voice is fading, so! i really hope that this effect will last, as i feel like if it is my every last chance . God bless you all!

Great Article ! I was going through BAVSA programs and found some really interesting frequencies in many of CDs. For eg.

frequencies found by bavsa on CD "Orientation Focus 3":
it starts with
3.9 herz (at 300 herz carrier frequency)
then it changes into
3.9 (300)
0 (60)
and again changing at 23 min. into more complicated
1.4 (114)
3.5 (111)
6.3 (116)
3.8 (300)

CD "Super Sleep":
1.5 (100)
49 (74)
51 (75)

CD "Cable Car Ride":
impossible to read, due to its strange
and ever-changing frequencies.
The same goes for CD "HemiSync in Motion."

PS.
I don't know if bavsa really does the reading
and if I read the frequencies correctly.

Jeffrey, if you're referring to "Brainwave Entrainment" I would say the answer is certainly yes. A study done just last year appears to confirm it. Enjoy.

I have personally been experimenting with "binaural beats/isochronic tones" for the past couple of months. I have composed a soundscape of my own that I find very effective I'd be willing to share if you're interested.
